Brett Favre Career Playoff Interception Record Watch

Brett Lorenzo Favre is now tied for first place in career playoff interceptions thrown!
The planets have aligned and the Gods have smiled upon us! Thanks to a weak division with horrible competition and an easy schedule, and despite Lorenzo gaining the all time career interception record, the Packers have made it to the playoffs! This will be Favre’s chance to gain another treasured record, most career playoff interceptions thrown! Currently, Favre is tied for second place with 26 career playoff interceptions (Terry Bradshaw also has 26), and is a mere three interceptions from gaining the top spot from the reigning champion Jim Kelly (Kelly has 28).
While it is likely that Favre will thrown the necessary three interceptions during the first quarter of the first playoff game, this is where we will keep track of this amazing career milestone. Go get ‘em Brett!
Special thanks to Action Jackson for pointing out that since 1998 Lorenzo’s playoff record is 3-6 with an unbelievable 18 interceptions thrown. I can’t imagine Jim Kelly will be in the top spot for long!
Update! (1-21-08)
On January 20th, 2008 versus the New York Football Giants, Favre completes a pass early in the 4th quarter to Robert McQuarters, cornerback for the Giants. McQuarters then promptly fumbles the ball back to the Packers helping to spare Favre from further humiliation. Then on the second play in overtime, Lorenzo shows his true skills and completes a pass to Corey Webster, cornerback for the Giants, tying the career playoff interception mark of 28, and sealing his team’s fate to go home with yet another loss in the playoffs. You are the absolute greatest Favre!
First, I need to apologize to all for making an error in my reporting. Favre had 16 INTS in his previous 7 playoff games entering this postseason. I feel like I needed to set the record straight.
Additionally, I’m pretty disappointed that the Pack could not pull it out tonight. I feel with one more game, Favre couldv’t got the coveted playoff INT record and left Kelly in his dust. Well, hopefully he will come back next year and go Ripken on the all-time INT record. PLEASE come back Favre, PLEASE.

I dug into the stats a little and confirmed your findings Action Jackson. With last night’s amazing performance, Favre is 3-6 since 1998 with 18 interceptions thrown. That brings his career playoff record to 10-12, a losing effort, with 28 interceptions.

Brett Favre is a great quarterback and a wonderful role model.
Brett has broken a lot of NFL and Green Bay Packer records, but most importantly,he simply has fun playing the game.
I can’t wait to see Brett play again in 2008. Go Pack!

Don’t worry, I’m coming back to break the record! The Pack postseason will end with my showing my uncanny ability at completing passes to the other team.

Don’t you understand, Jason, that you are actually flattering the Packers franchise by spending so much time & energy trying to downplay BF’s legend? If you don’t admire him, and if it doesn’t bother you that he’s so good, why are you so obsessed with him???? Answer: Jealous that he isn’t associated with YOUR loser team.

I love your site, i was just going on a rant on my blog and I decided to do a little research and up came this site. It confirms what I always thought. Dont get me wrong, Brett seems like a good guy, no ill will at all, I’m just saying that he is overrated, he has made some horrible interceptions at very crucial times in the playoffs and I think everyone forgets this.

Complainer In Chief,
Where have you been for the past couple of months? Betty is NOT a good guy…he’s a selfish A-hole just like the CAREER INTERCEPTION site has been proclaiming for more then a year. Thanks to Betty’s latest shanigans, the media and Packer fans can no longer cover up for him.

I think it’s funny how little you know about football. 28 interceptions in 22 games is pretty good, stupid. Seriously since you think he’s such a choker how many of those interceptions came in the two superbowls he was in?
Maybe you wouldn’t sound so dumb if you had started watching football before 2005.

Oh hey in those 22 games where he has 28 interceptions he also has 39 touchdowns.

Dude what the hell? Do you really think you can defend Betty Lorenzo “Mr. INT” Farve? Who leads the NFL in interceptions? Some dude who plays for the Jets named…oh, BRETT FREAKING FARVE! Who held their organization hostage to force a trade? Farve. Who proved that it wasn’t about the organization, he was all about him? Farve. Who holds the NFL CAREER INTERCEPTION RECORD? Betty.
Only a deaf, dumb, blind, idiot would try to defend Betty after the bullshitte he pulled this summer. Guess that guy is you, ay?

Hey lighten up here folks! Someone Smart has a point. Brett threw 6 in one game, 4 in another, 4 in one more, 2 in last years NFC Championship Game. Cut Betty some slack, that’s only 16 INTs in 4 very important playoff games!

And now, the New York Jets get to have the “fun” of dealing with Betty Farve’s off-season antics. Its the Jets turn to be held hostage by Lorenzo.
Already Lorenzo is telling the Jets organization that he’ll have to “look at his shoulder” before making a descision about coming back next year.
Yeah, Brett isn’t an asshole…he’s THE ASSHOLE

Gee, Mr Favre actually choked before the playoffs,LOL. Way to go Betty.Choke before the Jets get to the playoffs. Most overatted qb in the history of football. Why do Pack fans love him. He has cost them so many times in the playoffs with his choking..Atlanta,Minnesota and the Giants all punked Betty on his home field in the playoffs. Each was at least a 6 point dog. Betty also managed to choke away a SB in which his team way a huge 10 point favorite. Choking that much is hard to do even if u try.

Wow, I just stumbled on this blog trying to find Packers’ stats for post season play. I can’t believe there are actually a group of sports fans who have not been hornswoggled by Favre and the media. He is without a doubt a great competitor and fine man, but he is the most over-rated QB ever. Compare his post season stats to the great Bart Starr (10-1; highest all time passer rating). When the dust settles Favre will hold only two records: Most interceptions thrown lifetime; most playoff interceptions lifetime.

The Vikings NEVER should have been down to the Niners in the first place!!!!
Oh, one other claim to fame Betty has…DUMBEST FANS IN THE NFL!!!! That’s why he has the most jersey’s sold in 08 & 09!!! Just take a look higher up in this blog of all the Mr. INT fans that defended the A-Hole and then Lorenzo screwed over so violently as further proof.
And you sir, just lowered their collective IQ a few feet. After all, you can’t test Betty Farve fans IQ. You have to dig for it.

Brett’s certainly had a hell of a run four games in. I will say however, that as a Packer fan you should be pissed about that bogus pass interference call in the endzone Monday night. It gave the Vikings a touchdown and negated an interception, likely giving the game to the Vikings in the process.

Very true Jason… However there was also defensive offsides. So as much as I would like to moan about the PI… it still wouldn’t have mattered.
Also, I would take Favre throwing an INT in the NFC championship game as opposed to, oh you know, NOT MAKING THE PLAYOFFS!

Alright! Here it goes….
Yeah, yeah, the Vikings are 7-1 BIG WHOOP. The Bucs were 903 last December before their collosal fall to their current 0-7 record. Betty’s spent the last year recooping his body and saving his enery. (What, you think he actually PLAYED for the Jets? That’s not what I would call it.) LORENZO IS STILL AN ARSE-HOLE, SELF-ISH, JERKWEED WHO STILL HOLDS THE NFL CAREER INTERCEPTION RECORD!!!
Burt Farve (who’s best buddy’s name is Ernie) has that bulldozer named Andrian Peterson that kind of distracts the opposing team. I seem to rember Scott Mitchel played decent one year for the Lions when he was sharing the backfield with Barry Sanders.
And how sad is it that the motivation behind Lorenzo’s play is so that he can STICK IT to the Packers and all the fans who supported Mr. Int despite his constant failures? Now that he’s beaten the Packers twice, can he stay on top? Can he stay motiviate?
Can the 90 Year-old’s body stand up to the punishment of a 16 game regular season and push to the Super Bowl? I doubt it.
Will Lorenzo’s selfishness kick in when the pain starts getting worse and worse as the season progresses? Will he push his body to be as mobile or be able to throw as far and as accurate after a season of pounding? I doubt it.
Will he continue to prepare for the games like he obviously has? Can he stay focused? Or will the call of Burt Farve’s faithful John Deer Tractor, his wrangler jeans, and his faithful “tub-buddy” Ernie distract him in that crucial NFC Championship game?
Lorenzo’s return is only a sucess if he ends the season holding the Lombardie Trophy in Miami. So don’t bother me until he’s there.
Oh, and even if by some deal-with-the-devil miricale that the Vikings do end up winning the Super Bowl…IT STILL DOESN’T CHANGE THE FACT THAT BRETT LORENZO FARVE IS A SELF-CENTERED, MEDIA HOGGING, HIGHLY OVER-RATED, ARRRSSSSEEEE-HOLE WHO WILL FOREVER HOLD THE CAREER NFL INTERCEPTION RECORD!!!!!

The Packers lost to the worst team in the NFL. Mike McCarthy may get fired this season. I know he screwed the Saints up with Aaron Brooks.
