Fark Headline – Hillary promises that unlike her rivals, HER health plan will be universal. Even if she has to automatically enroll the reluctant and garnish their wages to pay for it

Hillary ZombieStraight from the Associated Press: “WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans. The New York senator has criticized presidential rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage. Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC’s “This Week,” she said: “I think there are a number of mechanisms” that are possible, including “going after people’s wages, automatic enrollment.”"

  1. Since this is a political article, I’ll post my comment here.

If Mr. Obama, a black African-American, is elected to the highest office in the land, the most important job in America, as President of the United States I ask this question:

Can we now repeal the Affirmative Action Laws of the 1960’s?

In the 60’s, the laws were an attempt by the US Government to begin to ensure an equal opportunity was given to blacks/African-Americans in the US job market. I would think that nothing would say “Mission Accomplished” more then having a black president. Especially seeing that Blacks/African-Americans are only the second most populas minority here in the United States. People will always dislike other people for various reasons from the way the person talks to the way the person dresses and so on and so on. This is life around the world and will never be stopped. It is what humanity is. But the votes required for the election of a black African-American to the most important job in the land surely points out that the MAJORITY of Americans can see past the color of a man or woman’s skin for any given job. For if the MAJORITY of America can entrust their very well-being and that of their family’s to Mr. Obama as President of the United States, what else can be done to prove that the MAJORITY of America asks not “What’s the color of your skin?”, but “How effective can you be?”?

So if I were a Senator in the US Senate, the moment Mr. Obama was sworn in as President of The United States, I’d present the law repealing the 1960’s Affirmative Action Laws. No, I would not repeal the 60’s Civil Rights Laws as those will forever be needed.

But should the repeal of the Affirmative Actions Laws not be passed nor signed, then those laws become everything for which they stood against. At that point, they become requirements of special priviledges for a certain sect of people based purely on the color of their skin. It states that America must base their decisions on the color of a man or woman’s skin when hiring for a job.

And should a particular Political Party argue against the repealing of the Affirmative Action laws, then they will show their true colors and the true nature of their backing of the laws. That they see the law as a way to ensure “special privliges” for a certain people so long as those people bow down to their leadership and objectives.

  2. I respectfully disagree with you on one point – the Civil Rights Act of 1964, while ostensibly aimed to correct serious wrongs, was a completely unconstitutional usurpation of state law and private property. And it absolved the peoples of the segregated states from their moral obligation to end segregation, while simultaneously entrenching the segregationists, delaying by years if not decades the eventuality you speak of so eloquently.
